On July 30, I received a letter from Camco stating that they had purchased a loan account from AVCO financial services in my name that has been delinquent since 1991. They stated that this is a attempt to collect a debt of $3,155.
In a phone conversation with camco, they stated that this account has been to four different collection agencies and none of them were able to find me in 13 years. Camco could not even tell me what kind of account this was. They stated that it was a credit card accnt.
Fine, but I do not have a credit card. They said that since I sounded like a upstanding person so if I would send them $217.33 this would all go away. They also wanted my account number so they could draft a check in my name to them for the money. I filed a report with the police for fraud and am considering legal action.
