Used Car Con Man in Action

I recently bought a Kia Amanti from this dealership two weeks ago. I took the car for an extended test drive over the weekend before I bought the car. When I bought the care I told the salesman that the brakes on the car were scrubbing and the front head light high beam was out. I almost did not sign the papers because I did not want to buy a used car and turn around and have to put money out to fix it. I was assured several times by the salesman that Carriage would stand behind their cars and would not sale a car that was not safe. I still had second thoughts and so the salesman filled out a (WE OWE) stating the dealership would check out the brakes and the headlight. I had bought several cars from Carriage Nissan in the past and felt sure they would stand behind their word. "i was so wrong". I took the car in to be checked and they checked it then wanted to charge me for the repairs. I asked the salesman about what about him telling me it would be taken care of and he stated he only said it would be checked out. I can't beleive that a well known dealership would knowingly sale a car with only 5% brakes left and a headlight out. That is not even street legal. I have never been more disappointed in a car dealership and I would recommend that no one do business with this company. We were obviously mislead and will never do business with Carriage again. They made no offer to settle our complaint nor a shared responsibilty alternative. I was told I could not return the car that the state of Georgia has no recesion period. I can not beleive that a company that treats a customer this way could continue to be in business.
