I contacted "Franklin" at (409) 771-9980 (#on the web-site) on Wed, Feb. 3 to reserve (with a $200.00 credit card deposit) a Hummer Limo for my daughter's 13th birthday, which was March 1st.
I had shopped around to all of the Limo services that popped up on the search engines, and the going rate was $450.00 for 4 hours of service. The reason I decided to use Galveston Hummer Limos was because they were local (in live in Santa Fe, Galveston County). Several of the other limo companies were located way out in Houston, by the Galleria and IAH Bush Airport and they charged for travel time and tip because we were so far out.
On the day of my daughter's birthday, I called to make the arrangements and to let Franklin know where I wanted the limo to pick us up at. The plan was for us to ride in the limo from her school in Santa Fe to Saltgrass Steakhouse in Galveston on the Seawall to eat dinner and then take us back to the school. Since we were eating at a steakhouse, I was worried that we would run beyond the 4 hours and I wanted to know how much the extra hours were going to be. This is when he proceeded to tell me that the cost was $450.00 for 3 hours. I told him that his was not what originally we discussed, and he said that's what he had down for me. He said that he would meet me half way and take half off the 4th hour. I didn't feel like I had a choice, since it was 10:52 am on the day of my daughter's birthday.
The limo was sitting in front of her school as promised, on time (at 2 pm), even a little early. When all of us got inside, the limo smelled sour and dirty. Several of the kids said that it smelled like pee inside. My daughter kneeled on the floor to say bye to the friends (out the window) that didn't get to go with us and when she got up, her knee was sopping wet with black water that was soaked into the carpet.inside the "bar" there dirty shot glasses knives, I'm assuming to cut lemon/limes because, the whole area was sticky and there were seeds left in a bin in the bar.
When were dropped off (on time), I had to pay the extra $70.00 for the 4th hour, and when I told him how dirty it was in the limo, he said that his cleaning guy only had a few minutes to clean it before he had to leave to pick us up, but he would have a talk with him. My advice, get something in writing from this guy 1st, so you don't get screwed like I did!
