International Rebates
Ripped me off for a $50 gas card. I had to send in my paperwork by Certified Mail (2 times), waited a couple of months, had to call a long distance number, wait on hold for appx. 25 minutes... Denied

I purchased a magazine which was supposed to be for a trial period. The trial period of 7 days expired before I even got the 1st magazine. I called that company requesting a refund and explained the magazine did not arrive at my house in time for me to cancel the trial period. The person said they could not refund my money but he would be happy to send me a $100 gas card. I thought that sounded okay. I received paperwork for the card, mailed it in by certified mail (appx $6.50) and eventually received another letter from International Rebates enclosing another form for me to fill out to chose a particular gas station where I would be using the card. I sent that completed form back via certified mail (another $6.50). 3 months went by and I had not received any gas cards. I called the "Help Desk" on the form and after waiting for about 1/2 hour my call was eventually answered. I was told that my "form was incomplete" and my claim for the gas card was denied. I was told that it was denied because I did not write the Certificate Code & Certificate # on the form. I asked the woman if she had that information available to her. She said yes and gave me both the numbers I needed to put on the form (I did not have my original paperwork with me when I filled out this form). I said to her that if that information was available to International Rebates, why didnt someone just put that down on my form and process it. She said they do not do that, it was not their responsibility. I then stated that since I put down my phone numbers, and address on the forms, why wouldnt they just send it back to me or call me and say they needed more information. She said that dont do that either. If the form is "incomplete" that is the end of it. Not only am I upset that this has been a long drawn out procedure to get the card in the first place (which it turns out I will not be receiving) I am also upset at the way this company treats their customers. I was spoken to like I was a 4 year old child.
