I reecently received a letter telling me I was already approved for vehicle financing. The letter said I should come in and pick out the vehicle of my choice and I could be driving it in less than 24 hours.
I was contacted by phone and decided to go have a look. I saw on the dealers website that they had a nice used Toyota Tacoma Pickup that interested me. It was 12 years old and had 124,000 miles on it but I still was interested. The listed price was $9,995. A little high I thought for a 12 year old truck, but I thought I would check it out.
I went to drive it and it ran pretty good. We sat down to deal. After 3 trips back and forth form the business manager we struck a deal... Or so I thought.
After waiting around for 2 hours... Just seconds from being handed the keys to my new ride I was told..."We made a mistake, and the price was off by $2,500 on the truck I was buying." I though great! They actually are dropping the price down to what the blue book value was... Around $7,000. No they said the $9995 was $2,500 too low. So there is no way we can get you to the payment you want so there is no deal. This was after we shook hands and was told congrats... You just bought a truck!
I am thinking of contacting a lawyer to see if they have to sell me the truck for what was agreed upon. I don't know.
Either way, don't ever try to deal with these crooks.
