Cottman Transmission
Horrible Service, LIES, LIES, LIES!

My 1954 Chevy pick-up died on the NJ Turnpike on Sept. 16. I had it towed to Cottman Transmission that same day. It took 3 days before any one called me back to let me know if there actually was a problem with the transmission. It took about 2 weeks to repair the problem. I get a call the day the work is done and am told that they don't feel it's quite right and found some more problems with the transmission.

Another week goes by. I call and call only to keep getting the same answer that the owner isn't in and "Mike" will call me back. I decided to stop there in person and see what the problem was. The girl in office said she was just about to call me to tell me the truck is done. I said great and paid my bill. After the bill was paid, she then proceeded to tell me there was a slight problem. It seems that they locked the keys in my vehicle and damaged the paint while trying to open the door. I looked at it and they totally destroyed the trim inside the door frame AND cracked the passenger side fly window. I was nice about it since they said they were going to pay to have it repaired and they knew someone who does that kind of work. I asked her why the hell didn't someone just call me to open the door and I got an I don't know why answer. To me that was just a plain STUPID thing to do and I thought it rather sneaky to tell me AFTER I had settled up my bill.

I left them the vehicle to repair AGAIN. It is now December 4th and I STILL do not have my vehicle back. Again it was one excuse after the other with this is being ordered and that was being ordered and we had to find the right person to do the job, blah, blah blah. The owner "Georgette" is a bold face liar who each time I spoke with her she told me the car was "almost" ready. Mike is also a liar claiming he just started working here and wasn't sure what was going on even though he was the initial contact almost 3 months ago.

I decided to call the repair shop where my car was being fixed. They told me it was done 3 days ago and they were trying to get Cottman to return their calls and pay for the repairs. Now my car is being held "hostage" because this inept company won't pay their bill. If I do not get my car back today I am going to have pursue legal action.
