So here's the story. I currently have a problem with a windshield replacement using a XYG windshield. I look through it and I get heavy optical distortions in certain section of the glass that I find unacceptable especially when driving. I've done a number of Google searches and I found that there's a pattern of substandard xyg being installed by companies like Safelite. Not sure here if either Farmer's or Safelite is the problem, I suspect a combination of both, but this is unacceptable for a number of reason that include driving safety when view cars in front of me.
I have a 2004 VW Passat Wagon. None of the remaining OEM VW glass has this problem and I'm going to ask Safelite what is required to get an OEM windshield installed. If companies just installed a good quality windshield in the first place, this would cost them less in the end.
