I bought a car and the dealer asked me to purchase an extended warranty, at the moment he made it seem like a great idea, he mentioned how great the coverage and service was. I paid $2,605.00 for a "Supreme" coverage for 36 months or 36,000 miles.
2 weeks ago I took my car to be serviced and was told about some items needing repairs, totaling $3,259.48... I was like ok, I have an extended warranty that will cover that... Yeah right. The shop said that they work with extended warranty companies and asked me to leave the car at the shop for an inspector to evalluate the repairs, after 3 days I got a call from the shop saying that the inspector finally came by and said that someone will get in contact to approve the repairs.
After a week the shop called me saying that the warranty company is not willing to cover the repairs, when I called National Warranty of Florida they said that they are willing to repair the car but that they will be providing the parts needed or cover for their cost value of these ($430.00).
I called 16 auto repair stores in the city of tampa and no one will install parts if they don't buy these.
When you buy an used car the biggest fear you have is that this car would break down and is a shame that people use that to get you into buying this trash.
