Texas Direct Auto - Missouri City, Texas
Car was in a collision. Not reported to carfax, so the carfax was clean. Not I am paying big bucks to get the car fixed

Bought it off e-bay when I lost the bid, and I called them to see about purchasing it. Big mistake - now there is no E-Bay protection. I did not understand that at the time. I should have also paid for a full independant inspection - but they have the $500.00 deposit, and charge another $500.00 for each of the 5-7 days they have the car, and cannot ship. That means you better be able to line up shipping and an inspection PRONTO... I wonder if ANYONE outside of Texas has been able to pull that off.

There were dents in the car, overspray on the headlights (I was told that they touched up the hood slightly), and rips in the seat leather that were not disclosed. I shrugged it off...

Got the car - just paid for them to ship it. Local mechanic thought it looked ok. After about a month, I started having problems. Shakes, noises, and warning indicators. Volvo dealer told me that it had been in a front end collision that was not reported to Carfax, and that is why the report was clean. Looks like the airbag was packed incorrectly, and also the tire was shredded - Volvo dealer thought TD put on a cheap a skanty re-tred. Said it was not safe to drive! Had to replace both tires, fix the seats. So far $1,200.00 & Jury still out on all of the indicator lights because I simply cannot continue to pay for everything this car seems to need!

I am told that I am out of luck because used cars are sold "as-is". Seems to me that fixing damaged cars and selling them on e-bay with a clean Car-Fax report should be illigal... But hey — I'm just another dumb-ol consumer to them. Another lesson learned.

I am interested in partaking in any class action lawsuits against these crooks.
