Kia Consumer Assistance - KIA Corp. Kia Consumer Assistance -KIA Corp. Refuse to honor warranty - stole records from glove box - never fixed problem - no return calls, - Douglasville - Irvine California

1-Took car to dealer in Union City 4 (or more) times while under warranty because Thermostat needle moves to "over heating" when car is idle.incorrect diagnosis each time. After warranty was expired sensor was replaced (6th visit) but 2 days later same problem. They REFUSED to fix it.

2- Contacted KIA Assistance, Irving CA, got case #, was advised to get 2nd opinion at Douglasville GA dealership, my 7th day lost sitting at a dealership. There I was told there is a "short in housing unit", which means my "speedometer" is broken... NO it is NOT, speedometer works just fine.
Kia Consumer Assistance, Ca refused to honor warranty...

3- Third through 6th trip to Union City dealership they rudely insisted I
needed a 'coolant system flush' for $139.00 (which had already been done elsewhere prior to going to Kia for the Thermostat issue) and kept trying to sell me "other services" which they insist causes the problem.

I had already informed David, the Svc Mgr, that the coolant system had already been flushed. David did not work there anymore upon my 3rd or 4th trip to them for the "same thermostat problem".

I was told repeatedly I have metal chips in the water system, (which I do not) and when I asked them if they
"checked, found or verified" the water system for these "metal chips", they said "NO, they had not".

They refused to fix the original problem the car was taken in for, but were willing to charge me to have "other unneccesary work done.

4- A mechanic and Technician took my car for a "test drive" when they replaced the sensor... This was "odd" because the problem occurs when the car idles at a red light, or is stopped in traffic, NOT when it is driving...

While "test driving" my car, they took "ALL" my maintenance invoices out of the glove compartment, including tire replacement invoices and oil changes done at 'other than Kia' businesses. All records from glove box were gone.

TWICE I called dealership requesting copies of my invoices and got NO calls back... And no copies.

5- It has been ONE FULL YEAR now that I have tried to get this "thermostat" issue fixed through KIA proper channels. They stalled and played games until my warranty ran out, then refused to honor the repair once the warranty expired, and stole papers from my vehicle to add insult to injury.

6- I was given the address of the CEO of KIA and told I can write snail mail to him. Thanks for nothing KIA Consumer Assistance, Irvine California.

At this point, I am "Afraid" to take my car to a KIA dealer because obviously they are NOT reputable, honorable, or trustworthy.

Consumer Assistance is a joke.

I love my car, and was very happy with it UNTIL I needed warranty work done and found out how under handed and slimy the company really is.

7- One more small note - whether fact or not...

During one of my trips to Union City I stated I was not happy that the repair was not done right up front, that my time is valuable too, and 5 -6 trips for the same problem is not right.

I was told "this is KIA policy" (to NOT fix the problem correctly the first few times the car comes into the shop).
