Southwest Hyundai Bait and Switch Scam!

I watched an advertisment on the television running on local stations, this commercial was for Southwest Hyundai in Dallas. The advertisement stated 10,000 dollars off MSRP on 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe which peaked my interest. I called to confirm the price and was told by a internet sales rep that yes it was 10,000 off MSRP on the 09 Santa Fe. While I was viewing the website and speaking to the sales rep I asked about the Hyundai Santa Fe GLS that was listed for 24070. She stated that it was 10,000 off the listed price. I told her that it was a great deal and that we had been looking at preowned that would run the same price as their special. She then stated that they were liquidating their inventory and to hurry and come because they were going fast. My wife and I then got into the car drove 48 miles to the Southwest Hyundai in Dallas. When we got there the internet sales rep that we had spoken to several times on the way there was not available and another salesmen was there to help us. We told him we were interested in the white Santa Fe GLS sitting on the lot and we were here for the special of 10,000 off. He then told us that that special was for the Santa Fe Limited not the GLS and that they have to order the car and it takes 6-8 weeks. At that moment we told him that was not what we were told by your internet rep. He then asked us to come in and he would investigate futher and talk with his manager. He took our info down and went and discussed with the Sales manager what was going on. He then came back and started to disclose all the fine print that their website does not disclose, and their internet sales rep fail to tell us, futhermore it was not disclosed on the TV commercial. The Sale rep said that the special is 10,000 dollars off the Hyundai Santa Fe LIMITED only listed for 29000, and you must be in the Hyundai loyalty program meaning you must be a former owner of a Hyundai to recieve the discount. And to top it off they order your vehicle taking 6- 8 weeks to recieve. I then told him that it was not right that they did not disclose this information upfront on the phone before we drove 48 miles. He then tried to persuade us to work a deal on the white Hyundai Santa Fe GLS that we wanted. I told him that if he could not get me the white GLS model for the 10,000 off which would make it 14000 then this conversation was over. As we were leaving the Sales rep and manager tried to persuade us to buy a pre-owned. I told him that this was an issue of integrity and they were misleading.
Southwest Hyundai is currently still running the same commercial advertisment, and still list on their internet website a special 10,000 off MSRP on Hyundai Santa Fe. There is no disclosures about all the other rules that apply to qualify for this discount. We feel that Southwest Hyundai was using a bait and switch tatic just to get us in the door. Since this issue occured Southwest Hyundai has contacted us twice trying to sell us a pre-owned Santa Fe. I told their General Manager that it was now an integrity issue and we would not patronize their business ever. I feel that given the current econmic strain where everyone is watching what they spend advertisements and sales person that use inappropriate and subversive tatics to try and cheat the consumer is reprehensible and should not be tolerated. It is taking advantage of people.
