I purchased a 1998 Hyundai sonata in 2000. I had just a about 10000,00 of warantee left on the DRIVE TRAIN. I bought it at Texoma Hyundai in Sherman TX.
I was driving to my brother's funeral in OKC. As I exited 40 HW and came to a stop my STEERING WHEEL DID NOT WORK AND I SPUN AND CAME TO A STOP! The rack and pinion had broke! If this would have happened 20 sec. Earlier MY FAMILY AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD!!!
I had the car towed to Automax in OKC. The sales manager Joe York told me to lie to Allstate and tell them that I had a wreck. I am a priest and was wearing my clerics when he said this!
I called Hyundai's 1800 # and was told that "out of good gesture they would reinburse me for my parts if I paid for labor. I am going to a seek litagation. My wife doesn't feel safe in that car. My two daughters are scared to ride in it. If you have had any problems with a Hyundai email me @ [email protected] I have had enough with car dealerships and their scams!
