Damage to vehicle

We took our vehicle to Wal-Mart in Dunn for tires. I did not notice till I got home that our spare tire was not put back in it's place. When I called them to ask why they didn't put it back they apologized and said that if I brought it back that they would put it in it's place. I of course did not drive the 17 miles that day but told them I would stop by when I was back that way. I could not put it back I was not physically able to. Before I got back to Wal-Mart to have this taken care of I noticed that the cable that holds the tire was hanging down. My tire hangs on a cable that is cranked up from the back of the van and holds the spare under the vehicle. So I thought I need to crank that up till I get back to Wal-Mart for them to put my spare on it. When I tried to crank the cable up it would not move. So I didn't wait for my next trip to Dunn, I went immediately. And of course when they saw the problem then they said that is why we didn't put the tire back on. This was not put on the work order, you know they are supposed to make notes on the work order if they find something wrong. Well ummmm you think that is why they couldn't put the spare on then they would have noticed a problem and noted it on the work order... At any rate My spare tire sits in the back of my van and the cable is still broke. Now this is not the only trouble we have had with Wal-Mart Automotive. We had new tires put on our new van, but this was another Wal-Mart, in Maysville, Ky. We picked up our van and drove home.

The next day we were going to be out in the evening, hadn't drove the van since the drive home from Wal-Mart. I heard this awful noise coming from the wheel area or at least that is what it sounded like. I had my husband to pull over and we both got out to look we noticed that we had lug nuts missing from our wheels. We were about 7 miles from Wal-Mart. I immediately called the service dept. And told them we needed someone to check it out as soon as we got there. They were like well we are about to close, it wasn't until I threatened that someone better be there when we get there and if anything happened between now and us arriving then I would not stop at contacting a lawyer, I then made a call to a family member and told them that if anything happen to us to make sure they had our van checked out good and what was going on.

We arrived at Wal-Mart to find not only were our lug nuts missing but our lug nut bolts were totally broke off, four of them. They of course did not fix this type of repair and guess what, nothing noted on our work order. We had another tire company that would wait for the check from Wal-Mart after they didn't the work. We had this repair and took the repair cost to Wal-Mart and they wrote a check for it. All well and good, no not hardly, we kept having another strange sound... Took it to the other tire shop and they couldn't hear or see anything, you know that always happens... This happened over about a weeks time and finally we found the problem to be our emergency brake. So we let someone convince us that it was no big deal, STUPID on our part.

Now guess what our vehicle won't pass inspection without this emergency brake working properly. This is something that I fussed about and tried to say that Wal-Mart needed to take care of. But you know sometimes MEN won't LISTEN to WOMEN... And in this case that is what happened I was out voted and numbered by the men who know EVERYTHING... And now guess what we have an emergency brake to fix before we can pass vehicle inspection... Men listen to your wives when they say fix it... Or otherwise it will cost you more down the road... Don't rig it to work ofr the time being or just think you really don't need that... But in any case this is a problem that should have been repaired by Wal-Mart when we had a chance to make them fix what they broke. And for those who say you get what you pay for, maybe everyone doesn't have the extra $200.00 plus like you to have their tires etc. Done somewhere else. So they go somewhere that is supposed to do the job right the first time... So I don't want to hear any of that mess from anyone... Good for you that you can afford to go somewhere else, for some of us we believe that we are going to get what we were told we would get for our money...
