Tire complaint

I bought a new set of Goodyear tires from Wal Mart in Culpeper, VA on Sept 26. On Oct 25, one of the tires went flat. Culpeper Wal Mart “repaired” the tire for a $10 fee. On April 31, the tire went flat again. Culpeper Wal Mart “repaired” it again for another $10 on May 3. After they “repaired” the tire, I drove to the airport and flew out of town on business. I returned on May 7 and found the same tire was flat. When I removed the tire from the car, I noticed damage on the sidewall of the tire. The damage was on the side of the tire that was facing the car and appeared to be a starburst pattern as if a great deal of pressure had blown the hole in the tire from the inside. Again, I returned the tire to Culpeper Wal Mart on May 8. Paige, the clerk at the counter, stated that someone must have cut the tire and charged me for a new one. There were no cut marks on the tire anywhere. The damage to the tire was located on a portion of the tire that could not have been accessed by anyone to cut it. I suspect that Wal Mart over inflated the tire to mount it on the rim and never bled the excess pressure off. I asked to see a store manager. Paige left and returned 15 minutes later and said that the manager would give me a 10% discount. I asked again to see the manager. I left after 2 1/2 hours without getting to see the store manager. I took the damaged tire with me and intend to have it examined by an expert. I also intend to notify the Better Business Bureau and contact an attorney to discuss legal options against Wal Mart. I am doing this on a matter of principle. I have an annual income of $170,000 and spent in excess of $20,000 at Wal Mart last year alone. I am now boycotting Wal Mart stores and will encourage others to do likewise.
