On April 21 I took my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac to this Wal Mart for 2 new tires. Apparently, upon checking the spare per my request, they did not tighten up the cable that holds the spare in place under the bed tight enough, it had enough slack that it bounced around when I hit bumps. I heard the noise coming from the bed but thought it was my bike rack I keep back there. Last night, when I started up my driveway, the extra tension from the tire bouncing around finally caused the cable to snap at the point where it attaches to the bracket that snugs the tire up leaving the tire in the middle of my driveway. Luckily it wasn't in the middle of the road. When I looked under the truck I noticed the cable hanging lower than it should, low enough to make noise and cause problems, but not low enough to notice the tire hanging down.in hindsight, I should have checked the noises I was hearing, but since I keep some items back there, I didn't think the noise was unusual. I sent an email to the Wal Mart but honestly don't expect to hear anything back. And I will never take any vehicle there again.
