Hi, this company is set up to rip you off.
I had a car breakdown while on a trip. I went to a garage and had manager contact the warranty company. They opened up a claim, gave him the number, asked to verify with them part numbers to be replaced with, hours to charge and even a rate to charge me. I was on the phone with them as well. They seemed to be fine: verified that all breakdowns were part of my contract, just needed to verify and re-verify part numbers. So left the shop. When the repairs were almost complete, I came back to pay my $100 deductible and for some non-covered (why?) parts such as a belt and fluids. The shop owner said he needs to make a final call to warranty: they agreed the payment will go on his credit card (my warranty card prowdly displays VISA logo).
Well, now they stated that the number given was not an authorization, just a claim number and go ahead on the phone was not a go ahead. Now they wanted to send an inspector at an unspecified time within next 2 business days (inspector and 2 days are not mentioned in the contract at all)."Oh" the repairs already done? So the claim is denied! Brilliant scheme, is not it?
Horrible people. Note, also something I did not pay attention to: the contract actually specifies that you can arbitrate with them only in Chicago or sue them only in Colorado. The arbitration costs are just over $1000 to be paid by the claimant and not necessarily recoverable in the event of a "win".
