Received letter about a check from from a toyota dealership

Eceived letters from these people tellin g me i need to pay on a bad check i wrote to a delership now gone. The check was for a 1000 dollars and that if i didn't pay i woul;d be subject to prosecution for writing a bad check. Till this day i can't figure out when a wrote this check and none the less i don't remember ever buying a toyota vehicle... They will not provide any info on the check other that i need to pay up or else... Someone help with this please. I've made a few payments already but they stopped sending me letters or answering calls...
