Accusations of Fraudulent Checks

I have received letters from these people 2 times about a check i supposedly wrote over 8years ago, why cant these people give me any information about this check the bank and then asks me if i know which one it is, it just doesnt sound right to me. Im glad im not the only one receiving these i almost paid them.
