In September, I purchased a 1948 Buick from this classic car dealer and had it delivered to Vancouver, Canada. His website had a number of photos & (self-written?) testimonials from supposedly satisfied customers, and I asked all the right questions before agreeing to buy the car. The price was 19K. From his description of the car, I was getting a "driver", not a project car, as I should for 19K.
However, upon receipt of the car, I was shocked at its condition and the blatant lies this individual had told me about it beforehand. The tires were flat, it was out of gas and wouldn't start (it had to pushed around), and the there was extensive damage to the paint and stainless steel trim (NOT from the delivery company). I had it towed to a garage and had it gone over. The brakes were shot and had to be completely replaced all around. There were missing bolts in the transmission (!) and a number of engine/electrical problems too numerous to mention here (the majority of which were conveniently never disclosed to me). The car has had to undergo a costly one year plus restoration just to get it roadworthy.
After contacting Vernon about this he continued to lie and deny. I have filed a BBB report about this shyster and contacted the Florida Attorney General.
My advice for anyone contemplating buying a car from him is DON'T!
