Americredit reports to credit agencies wrong/losses payments etc etc

I dont even know where to begin with all the problems I have had with Americredit.

Problem #1 My first year with them was pretty much ok. No real problems with anything. Going into year 2, I started having problems. It started with phone calls about late payments. When they started calling to ask about when I would be making my payment I became alarmed. I told them that the payment had already been made. Each time their response was that they had no record of it. When i told them it was made on through their website and that the money had already come out of my bank account, they always seemed to "locate" my payment. That happened for about 3 payments in a row, then all of a sudden it never happened again.

One day I happened to be home from work early, I went outside to take care of some things and happen to come outside in the middle of them repo'ing my car. The repo man showed me a repo order for him to come pick it up for being 4 payments behind. I told him that was impossible. As he was loading the car on the flatbed, I went into my house and pulled out proof (i keep very good records of all bills/payments) of every single payment. I showed him from payment #1 all the way to the current payment. At this point in my loan, I had only 1 payment that was paid about 4 days past the due date. He just shook his head and said there was nothing he could do and had to take the car. Obviously I immediatly got on the phone with amercredit.

After 2 hours of being transsfered from person to person and dept to dept, I finally learned that 4 payments in a row were never posted to my account. They had mysteriously dissappeared?!?! They had no record of the payments, despite the payments being done through their website. I asked why I had never rec'd a single phone call from them at any point during that 4 months asking about my payment, and they could not answer that. After more headache and much hassle I got my car back AND had to pay $325 to get it back.

After this incident, things seemed to be going smoothly.

Recently when I applied for a mortgage, the underwriter called asking me about all my late payments on my car loan. Being quite puzzled and knowing that no payments had ever been late, he allowed me to look at my credit report. Turns out that for 11 months Americredit has been reporting me as 30 days past due to the credit agencies. They were only reporting to 2 of the 3.1 month they reported on time to equifax and 30 days late to experian. The next month they would report 30 days late to equifax and on time to experian. They did this back and forth thing, on time/30 days late for 11 months straight. After calling them to figure out this new problem, they have acknowledged they made an error but have said there is nothing they can do about it. They said the only thing that I could do is to send a dispute to the credit agencies and go from there.

I sent disputes to both credit agencies complete with 100% documentation/proof (confirmation #'s bank statements etc) that my payments have not been late. When I got my responses in the mail from there investigation, it came back that americredit provided sufficent evidence to prove that I did in fact have the late payments and no changes will be made to my credit reports.

I thought I was going to go through the roof when I read that.

This was in May of now in Jan. 2009 I am STILL trying to get that fixed. I have sent in more disputes to the credit agencies but they wont even investigate it anymore, saying that they already have and all the information is true and accurate.

I have had other small problems with americredit here and there along the way, and most of them have been talked about by other people already, so I wont go into those.

There HAS TO BE something that can be done about this company! I dont know what it is, but at some point, someone will figure it out. I have read some absolute horror stories.

If anyone has any ideas/suggestions about what I can do about the credit agencies and the inaccurate info, please let me know.

If anyone else has other feedback, feel free to leave it.
