Bridgestone/Firestone, -More Tires Should Be Recalled

I feel that Firestone is not telling the whole story. There are a lot of other Firestone tires that are not on the recall that have the same tread seperation problem. If you have a problem with a tread separation, take the tire to a local Firestone dealer, and report the problem, the dealer will adjust the tire only if you buy one of their tire lines. The adjustment will be only for the tread left on the tire.

I owned a set (4) of tires, Firestone P265/75R15, that one of the tire's tread separated. The left front tire separated and damaged the left front inner fender well, partially ripped off my left front fender, and damaged the floor board of my pickup truck. The truck was very hard to handle and I almost wrecked before getting it pulled over to the side of the roadway. I replace the two tires on the front with a different brand of tire (not a Firestone). This left two Firestone tires on the rear of the truck. This last winter, one of the remaining two tires started to separate. I replaced the two back tires and kept the tire that is starting to separate. The tire has the steel belts that are coming out of the tire and the tire has a huge bulge in it when inflated.

When I contacted the local Firestone dealer, they informed me that the tire was not on recall and that they could adjust the tire concerning the tread that was left on the tire ONLY if I purchase another tire from their facility.

My opinion is that this is an unfair practice. Firestone is making money from selling new tires and not investigating other tire safety related problems. They are still making money from the customers and not taking the safety of their customers in consideration.

At this point, I am looking for a non-bias company to inspect the tire and report the problem to the government to force Firestone to recall ALL Wilderness AT tires!

Easy math should tell you that 2 out of 4 tires equals 50%. Do you want to drive your family anywhere on a 50% chance that your tires will blow out?

The tires that I have in concern have the DOT number; W29V1PK397. The plant W2 is one of the plants that is under investigation.

My suggestion to you is that if you have Firestone tires, replace them with another brand to protect you and your family!
