I called National Dealers Warranty on 11/6/08 and spoke with JUSTIN to inquire about potential warranty purchase. After he inquired about the mileage on my 2000 Corolla (75,000) he said "wow that's alot of miles, I'll need supervisory approval before I can even offer you coverage."
A manager came on the line and asked me a few questions about the car. He said normally we cannot offer coverage on cars beyond 60,000 miles, but "TONIGHT ONLY" he can approve an exception as long as the car is running ok. (NO INSPECTION NEEDED, JUST MY WORD) I was then xferred back to Justin.
Justin gave me the details of the Power Train only coverage plan (no other coverage available) and spent the next 20 MINUTES arguing with me about how often engines and transmissions fail, did I call him tonight just to "waste time", Asking will that be credit card or debit card (approx 10 times in 10 minutes).
I was told repeatedly that if I didn't take advantage of the offer before the end of the phone call, they wouldn't be able to offer me coverage at all. I asked him to let me do some research and call him back. "Sir I can hold for a few minutes while you do your research" and then decide how you want to pay for it.
"Why did you call tonight if you aren't interested in covering your car right away"? Extremely condescending tones, rude, high pressure closing techniques
Obviously this company's only interest is selling contracts so they can argue about paying claims later.
