As former employee of WFS, I can attest to many of their "tactics" used to collect on past due accounts. They went as far as to have a seperate phone line put in with toll free number so we as collectors could give it out. We could trap the consumers number. I was told by management at one point, " I dont' care what you tell them - tell them you're calling to form a class reunion - just get the money". I personally have left messages with neighbors, friends, etc. I reported one rep who I overheard break the Fair Debt law - the reponse from the rep was " who gives a shit - they owe us money" and the management backed her up. I've seen the skip tracer go out to dinner with the repo guys. We had one rep who could not grasp how to put thru an electronic check and consistently did it wrong - causing all kinds of problems but when management was confronted - they looked the other way.
I left the company after a raging arguement and never looked back. All of those people are scum.
