The Shop Of Loveland
Prepaid $2200.00 dollars for service on estimated $3000.00 dollar job still not done 3 years late

Purchased a 1994 Cadillac Seville in March of knowing that this car had a overheating problem which needed to be fixed. I had talked to Richard Ochoa owner of The Shop of Loveland to fix which he was reluctant to take the job at first but did agree to go ahead and fix the problem.

I took this vehicle to The Shop Of Loveland around September. Richard was still agreeing to do the work to fix this issue, as it had taken me awhile to retrieve the car from my parents house out of state in Nebraska where I had purchased the vehicle.

According to his diagnosis around March the overheating issue was related to the gaskets in the heads. The engine was finally pulled around the beginning of made a payment of $400.00 on 7-13-07, and a payment of $200.00 on 7/26/07. Made another $150.00 payment on 8/16/07. I had paid $1250.00 on 3-17-08 to put some money towards these repairs again.

Finally on 7/28/08 had made another $200.00 payment as the engine had just got back from Fort Collins as it had been said it would be taken up there from around the beginning of 2007.

Still to this day as I have stopped by the Shop of Loveland numerous times and have called numerous times throughout what has been done and what hasn't got done yet, Richard Ochoa keeps saying he needs to get caught up to finish or proceed with this project.

What bothers me the most is that I had been a long time customer of The Shop of Loveland and recommended Richard as a outstanding mechanic. I am also bothered that I have been repeatedly put on the back burner to have my car finished and for this to take a total of 3 years is absurd.

My car has depreciated. I am out the $1500.00 I bought the vehicle for, the $2200.00 I had put down on repairs with nothing to show. I also told him I wouldn't give him any more until the repair was finally complete.

Richard was reluctant to do this job at first, but did say he would do it. It has taken him three years to do a diagnostic, pull the engine, take the engine to Fort Collins to have set screws put into the block, and have the engine still sit to this day.

He did tell me today 10-23-08 that he still has one more project to do before he can get to my vehicle. He was at first hesitant to do the job, and didn't want to get to far into the vehicle at first because of the dollar amount for the repair, which I had made payments throughout to be ahead of the game for when this vehicle would finally be ready.

Nobody prepays for their vehicle to be worked on by a reputable mechanic. Reputable is the word in question here as I guess I made a mistake on this and should have never paid in advance but this is what he had requested me to do.
