Originaly my 1998 gmc jimmy had the transmision rebuilt in Dover New Jersey for just under $3500.00. This facility also damaged my driver door that was later fixed very poorly.
I drove home realizing that my truck was not running right. Slipping and not shifting right.
I took it to the AAMCO in concord NH and they pulled it out, sent it to there facility in salem that does the actual work, they said the case was put together with the wrong bolts and this caused major damage.
They told me a week was the most it would take.
What they dont tell you is the facility that did the original work is responsible for the warranty, this means they have to supply the parts or authorize the current facility to buy them. Well dover NJ sucks they took there time and sent the parts to the wrong location thus delaying things even more.
When salem did get the thin rebuilt and did a dino test that it suposedly passed it did not make it bck to Concord till noon the next day, I had turned in my rental car (1 week) slept in my jimmy and had to get to work 70 miles away by 4pm. I took my car at 3pm and soon realized things were still very wrong.
I had it towed back to concord and am still waiting to hear anything after 4 days of diagnosing what is wrong. I am considering small claims cort but will talk to a attourny first.
I am telling everyone I know to use anyone but aamco for anything.
I am one pissed on very disapointed never to return customer.
