I uas missled by good adverts. I took my ford probe gt to aamco a month ago I just got it back bill $ 2200.00.
When i took it to aamco first they told me they needed to take it apart to tell what was realy wrong, cost $700.00. I replyed by saying "so this means you will fix it for $700.00 plus parts?" they said yes. After the teardown they said it needs a rebuild $1080.00.
I was pissed off. Even i knew a rebuild is not $1080.00 in parts! I find out they dont do manual tranies there they send them out to another shop. Now im paing to have another shop to rebuild my transmision.
It took a month to get it back and when i got it back it had a exaust leak, parts of the intake manifold are not conected properly so the car runs like crap.
The next question was "where are my old parts? I asked for my old parts when we started the work." they didnt know. While this was going on a employee rips the exaust off a customers car while puting it on a lift!
Then says it was the customers fault. I heve also learned my employer has also been having problems, his car whas woorked on at aamco for 5 months in the shop and it was not fixed even after they called him and said ITS DONE.
Run dont walk away from aamco!
