Ever since Flat Iron has taken over I have been disrespected they harrass me three and four times a day (yes a day). I did get behind because I was injured on the job and could not work. I called to work out a payement arrangement and I was advised I had to give them a check over the phone that day and they would hold it for me until the end of the month and then defer the following month in able for me to work out any arrangement. Then they charged an additional 10.00 for that. Needless to say they held the check charged me late charges, interest and who knows what else. Recently I paid them over 2,000 to catch up my payment... Within a week they called to say I was behind and being charged 20.00 a day. I asked them to send me a payment history that I felt they where mistaking. I never got that payment history I asked again. I asked a total of three times. Still no payment history. I have had four deferments at 400.00 a piece (thanks to Centrix at the time) no they say I owe almost 5000.00 by the end of my loan. Ummm 400 times 4 is 1600.00... Do they not know how to add. I want to know what I am being charged for. They say late fees and interest and interest on late fees... But in March when I paid the 2000 dollars I was told that I was ahead and had no more pending late charges. Recently I got behind again due to the fact that the job market has been so bad. I called inAugust to make my payment and the gentleman on the phone who seemed nice told me to go ahead and pay for August (over the phone again charging me another 10.00) and he would defer September. Well by September 5th (my payment being due on the second) I had one voice mail after the other, one call after the other advising my to call TODAY! I though it was for insurance info or something because as far as I knew my payment was defered and i was ok. I got a call on Monday Sept 29th. The day after I found out my best friend had passed away. As crushed and upset as I was I called Flat Iron to find out what was going on. I talked to a gentleman who now told me I was over 800.00 behind. I asked how is that possible I was paid up through August and Spetemeber was deferred. He read the notes and said " I see the request for the deferment but it was neither approved or denied, let me get my supervisor and see what is going on." A lady named Lea I believe got on the phone and said to me we need a payment NOW. I said but this month was deferred and she said you get no deferments we want our money and you better figure out a way to get it to us. I explained I had just lost my best friend and I would see what I could do... But I wanted a payment history and I wanted them to audit the account because they where wrong. She said I will send you the history but we need payment nolater than the 30th and I said well I will have to see what I can do I have a funeral to attend. All the while she was raising her voice and interupting me. She said get it from your friends and family, and I said my friend died lady and my family is struggling just like everyone else. I was told I had a deferment what are you guys lieing to me now... She then saud I want the payment by tonight at 8pm and I said you just said the 30th you guys don't know your left from your right and she said you will be in default and we will come get the car and I said then come get the car. I will get a lawyer and have my Payment history researched because you are stealing me blind... She said I dont care, get a lawyer, I dont care that your friend died... Get me the money if you have to borrow, beg on the side of the road or steal it. I want it by 8pm. At that point I lost and I asked her do you know what Kharma is? I hope it don't come your way you are rude and I dont have to deal with you. Well, I still haven't recieved the payment history and I am still getting phone calls and at this point they can take the car. I will just file bankruptcy if I have to. The whole economy is suffering... And we just went through a hurricane. I believe they should be investigated and sued for the lies, stress and over charging their customers. Centrix never treated me this way... But FLAT IRON!!! My contract was with Centrix to began with and I was never aware that flat iron or peak 5 took over. I didnt even know who they where when they called. I think there should be a lawsuit and that other consumers who have been screwed by this company should come forward and help us fight for fairness and respect.
By the way I only owe one more year on my Explorer and now they want to come and take it... Go figure.
