I brought my Jaguar XJS to this shop for a tune up and since it was so far away I requested to have 1 day where I could bring it in and have it serviced. Paul looked at it and said he would be able to do this lated in the week so I gave him $200 for parts.
When I returned on thursday the parts werent there yet and the mechanic didnt show up until 9:30 and a little while later when I was waiting there, Paul asked if I could pay the rest of the bill which wasnt done yet and the A/C recharging was'nt on the bill (probably because they lacked the proper license)
I was suppose to have complete attention the whole day by this one mechanic but was interupted numerous times and even left a time for about an hour to work on someone elses car. The amount I gave them total was
$1531.00 and that was to cover the tune up which only consisted of the plugs, wires, filters, a new compressor ($324.90 was way too high).
The point is, they never finished my car, they bought the freon to fill the unit but their vacuum pump didnt work but it was specified on the work order this was not included. Was this because his pump was broken or they didnt have the proper equiptment to do the ac legally? He wanted me to bring it back the following week so I left and barely made it home that evening...
The wiring harness had been smashed which cost me $375. To fix and I also noted many scratches to my cars fenders which were imaculate before.
I called Paul and told him of this and all he could say was: "that boy worked his ass off on this car". So I told him I wanted some of my money back and I would do the work myself. I could have bought the parts and supplies he used for about $400 and he ruined the fuel inj harness and scratched the fenders. Pretty much a wash since the spark plugs he used were'nt even the Platinum types and none of the filters except the transmission filter had been changed. He lied to me, then conned me and the mechanic was rough on my pride and joy show car.
