Promise the moon and then they give you the finger. Promise a 30 'trial" and then scam you out of $150.00 if you don't follow thier 'rules' to terminate ad

Received a call from 'Allan' who left a message on my answering machine at home. Called back and spoke to 'Tim' who said thet their company had a number of buyers interested in purchasing my collectors car - a 66 Olds Toronado.

He stated that there was a fee of $15 for a 30 day period and if the car sold, I would only be charged a flat fee of $150 less the initial $15. Nothing was said about crieteria for cancelling the ad.

This week (August 5) I recieved an envelope in the mail with a form letter stating that I would be charged $150.00 if the ad was not cancelled in 30 days. On the reverse of this form is a 'Cancellation" and the rules which if not followed will cause you to be charged $150.

Rule #1 was that a photo of the vehicle must be postmarked before 14 days of the initial ad. Rule #2 states the form must be notarized and rule #3 is that the cancellation form must be postmarked prior to the 30 day limit.

I phoned the 1-800 line and asked why this form needed to be notarized if I was cancelling the ad and was told it was a legal contract.
