Longwood Industries Inc, VA Money Scam

Longwood Industries Inc. Got our information from a car ad we placed in our local newspaper. "Allen" called us saying he HAS a couple of buyers who were interested in our vehicle. After his fourth call, my husband decided to call him back. According to Allen, he worked for Longwood Industries, a non-profit organization. They will adverstised our vehicle for an administrative cost of $10.00 IF THEY SELL OUR VEHICLE WE WOULD BE CHARGED $140.00 We were told that a couple of buyers will contact us within the next few days (no one called, buyers or Longwood reps.). We were immediately charged for the amount of $10.00. A month later, our credit card was charged by Longwood Industries Inc. For the amount of $140.00 (which again, we were told will not happen until they sell our vehicle).

Again, I was assured that they already had "buyers" for our vehicle, and we would be contacted in the next few days.

We made multiple calls after we recieved our credit card statement and were told by at least 2 different reps that:

1. If we had sent them a picture of the vehicle, signed a form (the claimed to have sent us), and had it notorized, they wouldn't have charge us, but since they ran the ad without the picture/info therefore, we were charged. (??? —I had this statement clarified many times and still don't understand the logic behind it).

2. Allen was transfered to a different DEPARTMENT, so he can't help me.

3. I can't have Allen's number

When asked where, they were located, so we can go there and speak with Allen:

*"I Don't know"

I asked "Where do you go when you go to work, where are you now?"

*"I am not sure"

I asked to speak to someone who can make decisions beyond the guidelines given to customer rep: I was transfer to an answering machine, my husband called and asked to speak to Allen, he was also transfered to an answering machine.

If you decided to do business with these people, be very carefull—I went on line and there were hundreds of complaints against them in the past few months (check it out for yourself).

If you want to donate money, there are plenty of reputable organizations out there, who really exist for the purpose of helping others, not one who uses that claim to scam people out of their money.
