Received the engine block 2 weeks late and installed it and it would not run. Had to bring to dealer, turns out the timing chain was installed wrong.
One thousand dollars later it ran fine.
Then 650 miles later the cylinder head gasket blew. Back to the shop and found the head was warped 12 K of an inch? According to the experts at ATK (Rino) we severely over heated the engine and it was completely damaged.
My mechanic found the lower block was fine the head must have been warped to begin with noting the gasket was not compressed evenly & the engine had no signs of over heating.
But ATK said too bad. This cost me $1800 They did warranty the timing chain but the warranty reimbursement and the core deposit have not been received.
Called and talked to the Customer service department Tim and was told I would receive the money in 2 cycles. I thought that meant 2 months so after 3 months I called again trying to get information from this Tim person and was threaten that if I didn't stop calling I would not get my money. So now its 7 months and no check or core deposet reimbursement.
With the new head installed the engine runs fine to this day. Even though Rhino and the warranty department experts assured me the engine was severely damaged by me and would not warranty the warped cylinder head.
It would have been cheaper to have bought a new engine.
