I bought my truck from someone who gave me an invoice she paid for a rebuilt engine - had been rebuilt and installed less than 7 months prior, and she paid $1900.00 for it.
I had the truck 3 months and it overheated due to the engine being USED and not rebuilt as stated. The truck blew a head gasket and I took it to my long-time mechanic - he said the engine was old and used and not rebuilt at all.
The invoice the prior owner gave me stated there was a 1 year, 12000 mile warranty - the work had been done 10 months prior and the truck had been driven 3500 miles.
I took the truck to D & H Automotive to have them fix it, and they said they would not honor the warranty, that it "didn't transfer" to a new owner - but NOWHERE on the receipt is this stated. Plus he said he wouldn't have honored the warranty anyway because the truck overheated - BUT the overheating was caused by the USED engine and WORN head that he sold as "rebuilt".
