I recently purchased a car from my daughter at DriveTime Clearwater, Florida. The first thing they did that really made me angry was when contacting my personal references and emergency phone numbers they told these individuals how much I had paid for the vehicle as well as the amount of the payments. They asked these individuals whether I could afford to make these payments to them!!!
The next thing is, I had a family emergency and I had to come to Idaho for an extended visit as my another of my children was ill, I called and told them my payment would be 2-3 days late, they blew a gasket and told me that if it wasn't there by 10:00 that morning, (It was 9:00 there time, 7:00 A.M. Idaho time) they would have the car repossessed. And last and what I find the most appalling, after I sat in their office for over 4-hours filling out paperwork and such they told me that I had not signed one of the necessary documents.
At first they insisted I come to Florida to sign it (Yeah Right!) second they said they would send it overnight air and I would have to overnight it back (No way, not $15.00 to send it for their mistake). Last of all they finally faxed it to me. When I tried to fax it back (which they told me again must be done by 12:00 noon, the fax did not answer. I called and asked to speak to Carlos the gentleman who told me when I had to do this by. He was out to lunch, I left the fax number and told them to fax it to me. That was over 2-hours ago and still no refax from them to me of this NECESSARY document.
I am disgusted and if my daughter really did not need a car and had better credit I would totally bag this company, unfortunately I have already invested 600.00 down and two payments of 230.00 each (I might mention at a right of over 28%). This guys are slime in my book!!!
