Dont Treat Customers with Service-Ripped Off

I am writing to you to express my great dissatisfaction with your dealership, Route 23 Honda and the American Honda Corporation in general.

First let me start by saying that I was previously a Honda Loyal Customer and I have leased a Honda for the past 15 years, all through Route 23 Honda.in fact, I moved out of the Wayne area several years ago, and despite this fact, I still felt loyal to Route 23 Honda and continued to lease my Honda vehicles through Route 23 Honda.

On June 10th I brought my current Honda Oddessy into Route 23 Honda due to the air conditioning not working. Route 23 Honda's Service Department advised me that the air conditioning condenser was leaking due to an alleged contact with road debris. I was advised that this repair was not covered and I would have to pay $983 to have this fixed.

We immediately expressed our concern that the Oddessy was only 2 years old and don't understand how this could not be covered under some vehicle warranty and/or guarantee. The Route 23 Honda Service Department called the American Honda Corporation and requested an exception and we were advised that this exception was declined. A small insignificant discount was offered by Route 23 Honda.

I don't understand how an alleged contact with road debris leaves me with a $983 bill, obviously we do not take this vehicle for off road driving and we only use it for around town driving and we did not drive over or hit any rocks. We did not hear any noises that I would have expected to hear as a result of contact with road debris would have made to cause a leak in an air conditioning condenser.

As I stated, I was a Route 23 Honda and American Honda Corporation loyal customer for the past 15 years. I am very disappointed that this repair was not covered under any guarantee and/or warranty. I am extremely disappointed that this is the way Route 23 Honda 23 and the American Honda Corporation treats its long time valued customers. Over a $983 bill, you lost a long time customer. I am in the customer service business and I understand the value of retaining customers, especially your long time and loyal customers.

I or my family will NEVER purchase and/or lease another Honda vehicle. I will advise all my friends to stay away from all Honda's and I will also be sending a copy of this letter to all local Wayne NJ papers and the Newark Star Ledger.

I was also insulted by the Dear Valued Customer cover letter that accompanied my $983 bill asking me to give the dealership the highest score possible on its random short phone survey. You got to be kidding about your goal of providing excellent customer service. This customer got robbed by both Route 23 Honda and the American Honda Corporation.
