Power Nissan Tempe
Service at your own risk

Issue 1:

I have a 2005 Murano - so it is 3 years old. It has just had the third battery installed. Each battery has been a Nissan OME and in big bold writing on the top of the battery it says "84 month limited warranty". Tom, my service advisor, believes that if the car (not the battery) has done over 36,000 miles there is no warranty. Jessica, CS manager, believes that there is a 12 month full replacement and then pro rated replacement after that. HOWEVER, as the prevous two have failed within warranty, apparently I have actually never bought one. Apparently I have to "buy" one to get the effect of the warranty. The funny thing is I remember paying close to 40K for a car of which the battery was a component - hence I have bought one. Apparently they are prone to failure because of the weather in AZ. Tough luck, unmark them with the "84 month limited warranty."

Issue 2: After my battery failed I was due for a 45K service. Against my better judgment I had them complete the service - cost $210. Part of that service was to "top off all fluids". You guessed it, fluids were not topped off. Reason: The weather in AZ.in fact the CS manager informed me that the coolant should actually be below the min. Line because of the expansion caused by the weather. The funny thing is that the resevoir has at least 6" free space above the max line to allow for expansion. Other fluid containers were not filled either and the same excuse was given. A few cups of fluid per customer soon adds up.

Issue 3: I got a call from the service rep. While my car was in the shop. He told me that I needed new belts (better judgment now) I told him to get me the belts and I would find someone else to install them. No suprises that the belts did not need to be replaced. (though I did them anyway)

If you are going to use Power Nissan Tempe:

1) Be alert
2) question everything
3) don't take their interpretation of what is covered as part of a warranty
4) if you have repairs made ask for the old parts and an explanation of the defect

My opinion, if it is not warranty work stay away from Power Nissan Tempe.
