And General Motors, Buick, Chevrolet, Pontiac Bean counters running the company

I have been working on GM vehicles for over 30 years since my father had owned 2 Chevrolets in a row, brand new. As a young adult with low income, and high taxes while struggling through schoold no thanks to the Older generation canceling my student loans and financial aid via Ronald Reagan, I appreciated the ease of workability, and general reliability of these vehicles. I even went to work for GM Powertrain as one of my first jobs out of College and had my first runins with the union environment. I learned a few things about people, and chalked up my poor experience to, well, experience and I avoided the union ever since and turned down a few jobs because of it. Even though I got screwed by the union in that particular situation, I regarded the union problems I had to the exasperation of workers due to the numerous plant closures, the long hours, and the difficult path they had to follow to work for GM. Now that I can step back an reevalute many related things, I have come to realize that I now need to reject the american made car. I know I am late to arrive at this conclusion compared to some other people in the country, but now GM is just throwing it in my face. I see the same union problems nopw impacting me directly and my family in the terms of the quality of their vehicles. I just got done fixing my 97 GMC Jimmy which alsmost had a serious failure due to the use of plastic parts. My GM Sun=burban, while I like the vehicle and it is easy to work on, has had an excessive amount of failures as well. I previously had been tolerating this because I don't necessarily take it on faith when someone else, who has never worked on a vehicle in their life and doesn't have clue what happens under the hood says another brand such as Toyota is better quality and reliability.in the face of all that I was still trying to continue with GM products to keep jobs in America and the resulting prosperity, but I am forced now to abandon that philosophy. GM has just gone way way too far in cutting corners. They use way too many plastic parts in manifolds, timing gears, engine sensors, radiators, etc. I think I am one of the last cusotmers that GM could ever lose, and I just won't tolerate it any more, and I am now saying good bye, Good Bye!!!
