AAMCO Transmissions Bridgewater NJ Owner: Mr. Ben Fiorentino Complain about Transmission Rebuilt at AAMCO

RE: Complain about Transmission Rebuilt at AAMCO Bridgewater NJ

Dear Sir or Madam:
I sent my wife's car (1998 Mazda 626 LX, mileage 91,130) to AAMCO Transmissions Bridgewater NJ (Owner: Mr. Ben Fiorentino) in June for evaluation since this store is close by. The owner said he found the transmission was bad and insisted to fix the transmission. The owner wrote a quote $1300-$2395 plus tax. I decided not to do it since it was still drivable.

After the car failed the NJ State Inspection in early July only due to No Check Engine Light, I took my car to this store on July 11th. I clearly told the owner that there was a limited time (due on July 31) for a re-inspection. I left all the re-inspection paperwork to the owner and asked him to give me a quote for the check engine light problem. However, the owner never gave me a quote for it.instead, he continuously pushed me to fix the transmission first.

As the deadline for a re-inspection was near, I reluctantly let Mr. Fiorentino to go ahead since it appeared that he did not want to fix the check-engine-light if I did not let him to fix the transmission.
He charged me $2562.66 total, the maximum on his quote.

Within 2 days, my wife observed the check-engine-light was on. Also, the car was still bumpy when speed accelerated from 0 to 20 miles. I had to send the car to the store again. Mr. Fiorentino told me to pick my car on the same day and said he was not going to fix the check-engine-light any more because he was not able to fix the problem, although this store claims Complete Car Care. Also, he suggested send the car back after you drive some miles on it. I took the car back.

Hard shifting at speed accelerating from 0 to 20 miles still existed and the check engine light was still on. On April 2nd, the car (mileage 93,870) was taken back to the shop and tested driven, and was confirmed the problems still existed. Mr. Fiorentino promised to finish the job. After one week, I took back the car. However, my wife was very disappointed to see after driving the car for only three days, the car was shaking badly on local streets and she could barely drive it home on April 16th. Both my wife and I had a very difficult time since then. I had to send both her and little daughter in the morning before I could drive to work. We were forced to have bought a new car three days later since both of us are working.

We took our car to AAMCO based on the reputation as world's largest chain of transmission specialists. However, we were very dissatisfied with the rebuilding transmission service at AAMCO Bridgewater. My wife and I were screwed up times after times, which was not clear to me if that was his intentional or reckless behavior. We had to ask leave from work each time, endless time-wasting and hassles. Therefore, I request AAMCO Bridgewater to refund my money back (due: $2562.66) to settle down this issue.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know. Thank you for your attention.

Yours truly,
Pete
