My husband and I went to Richmond Toyota in Richmond, Indiana. We went there to purchase a pre owned / used car. The salesman Dustin A. Pierson was the one that told us they did not have any used cars. If you call right now it will say while you are on hold that they have 100's of used or pre owned cars in stock. That was lie # 1.
Dustin A. Pierson kept us there for several hours putting pressure on us to buy a new car. We were wanting a used Toyota Camry. He kept pushing for us to buy a Toyota Corolla. I was sick the day we went there. Dustin took us to a table where we sat for hours. He kept coming over to us and on a piece of paper started showing us figures for the car. We kept telling him we could not afford the payments.
My husband and I feel that we fall under the lines of High Pressure Salesmanship, fraud, and lots of lies. We ended up in the managers office who was sitting at his desk eating a sandwich. He was more interested in eating his sandwich than he was going over the paperwork with us. He put the paperwork in front of us and I was trying to read it as fast as I could, but he just kept pulling the papers back from me. And as you can see from the contract there are 3-4 places that I did not even sign.
From the very start I told everyone I spoke with that I did not have a job and am trying to get Disability. Then when we go into the managers office I told him the same thing I do not have a job and I am trying to get disability. What does the manager do then he puts me down as the #1 borrower. Anytime you buy a new car it automatically comes with a warranty. Richmond Toyota added an Extendted Warranty, Gap Insurance, And Disability Insurance. Then we received a letter in the mail stating that we did not qualify for the Disability Insurance and yet Richmond Toyota kept it on the paperwork.
This ordeal has been nothing but a nightmare. My husband and I went back to the dealership to address the issues regarding the things that were added to the contract Gap, Extended Warranty, and the Disability Insurance. A woman named Rachel and a man named Peter Vi said these things would be taken off. I have called so many times I can't count and noone will talk to me or even return my call.
I had been calling everyone I could think of to talk about this mess to no avail. Finally on 3-27-08 I called and at last got a man named Jimmy on the phone from the Financial Dept on the phone. I had tried to reach him several times also and he would not talk to me either. But on this day he did get on the phone. He asked if I could hold for a second. I was on hold for 30-35 minutes and he never did get back to me.
Richmond Toyota are wanting to charge us $35,897.05 for a 2007 Toyota Corolla. Which values at $17,000. We have beened wronged so bad here. All that we ask is for it to be made right. I don't think that is to much to ask for. We are more than willing to give the car back. It only has 9000 miles on it. The payments they are asking a month are $498.55. Out of that $498.55 only $50.00 goes on the principle and the rest goes towards the interest. That is a rip off if I ever saw or heard of one.
We hope that you can help us because we have no where else to turn. We are in a bad way. We are a single family income and are barely getting by as it is. I BEG you to please help us out with this horrible ordeal. Also to this date everyone involved in this transaction have been FIRED. Yes fired. That should be enough right there to prove that the people were incompatent. Please get back with me and let me know I hope that we can return the vehicle as soon as possible. We have had to get an extension since January and another payment is due on the 27 of April. We need help in a very bad way. Please get back in touch as soon as possible.
