Although my title lists some of the highlites of my vacation "Trip from Hell"
please allow me to inform you of a few more.
Originally I had paid the bill with a Visa card. When I broke down the first time, with the exact problem I had initally taken the car to Aamco for, I placed the repair bill in question with Visa. This time I was told I would only be able to pick up my car with cash in hand or a certified bank check. I finally had to summon the Newark police dept. To retrieve the vehicle. After driving another 20 miles, the car broke down again and had to be towed for the second time. After the car was supposidly check' d again I picked it up and it broke down on the road again. This time they told me " It was the "Alt. Belt and parts would have to be ordered. At this point, I made arrangements to have the car towed to a Volvo dealer. THe bill was $300.00, because
Newark had kept the alternator mounting parts. The Volvo dealer stated on his billing that the transmission was definitely slipping and the car should be returned to the Aamco repair shop. After contacting "Aamco No customer service " I requested that the car be taken to the Clifton Aamco shop.
Two towings were paid for by me. Don - Vin, Inc were totally professional and after three shop trips were able to get me on my way
My car is back in Aamco 500W. Pike St. Lawrenceville, Ga. 2 weeks no car!!!
