January 17 7:45am (CST). Traveling down hwy 35s.in Dallas, Tx. I hit a truck in the rear end, after he cut me off. The other drive told me himself do not use Service King! They are crooks. About one hour later the tow truck came and the young man told me he only new of Service King and would have to take my car there! Half nervous out my mind and extremely cold this very busy morning in Dallas traffic, I agreed. I mean heck, maybe the guy did'nt know what he was saying. That evening I get to Service King in Irving, Tx. About 6:30 pm that evening, because I had to go on to work at my newly job of six weeks and just was hired as fulltime, with benefits to have a much needed surgery on my right shoulder muscle tear. Steve Bueno, advised me he understood that my Liability Insurance wouldnt cover because I hit the other guy. He had me an estimated $6,000.00 quote (out of pocket). I told steve regardless i would need the work done, but did not have the money. I asked that he wait until January 21 the following monday and let me find out about some money that i was awaiting from my student distribution that was being processed. I attend school as well to finish my BSBM. He agreed and I signed some papers saying that my intention was to let Service King do the work for me. But, let me get to my funds and find out where my money is to pay out of pocket, again before work is to be doen! Next, i get a call monday morning on my cell voice mail from Steve stating they have the quote from a break down and it will be $5,200.00 and to call him because I need $2,600.00 to start work on my car. Again, without speaking to my school and it funding dept. He then told me it will cost $147.00 for that work as well as the $175.00 towing. I told him no! I didnt authorize this, so he said to bad. That will be now the $322.00. I told him its MLK Holiday and school was closed! I would call him as soon as I found out about the Check. Steve called me again Jan. 23, adn told me he was under pressure because they ordered a part and had to now have $2600.00!! While making arrangements
to have another company move my car on thursday Jan. 24. I couldnt make it to Service King due to my hours at work. I contacted steve of my schedule and would be there. He told me he too had to work 12-13 days, basically he was saying big deal. On Friday Jan 25 at 2:30pm I arrived at Service King only to find my car Stripped down! Now, heck I cant take this car anywhere else. I spoke to Chris the Manager with Steve and was told I had till end of day to contact school or Monday jan. 28 storage fees will now start accrueing ontop of the other charges. I left and called school, to find out check was being processed with no Estimated Delivery Date. I called Service King and Steve told me the cost to move my car now would be another $260.00 for the part they ordered. Regardless if I asked them to wait or not, because I signed the paper I had to pay or leave the car. Now owing 582.00 and a car that has now been stripped. Chris told me to show up monday with plans to either have him fix my car at $5200.00 plus towing of $175.00, or pay the $582.00 plus I'm sure more taxes or he would start charging me $25.00 per day from that date. So here I am no car and put in a spot to where I cant pay to play. I can get my car for 582.00 and have it moved on 01/28 and pay someone else storage. While I still wait for the check to come. Chris told me my parts from the wreck will be in a box on monday, but under NO circumstance should i show up thinking the prices would change. Its the weekend so i hope to contact an attorney or get some help. But, I will be ready to pay the 582.00 A man once told me, that unless you have a reason to Die, you have No reason to live... I think I've found my cause and will move forward to now help others. At 42 its to late to be an attorney. But, i will now be an advocate to help people against the big companies that take advantage of them. I thought in the state of Texas a verbal agreement was legal and binding just as a piece of paper signed. Someone help. Stressed and in Rage, trapped like a lion in a cage, about to go on a rampage!!
