I recently went to Goodyear in Albany NY to have my car repaired (the front end was vibrating when driving straight or turning right). I dropped off my car told them the problem and that was it. The following day I called to see if they had looked at it yet, they told me that they had done an alignment and that other then that my car was fine and I could come and pick it up (I did not authorize for any work to be done, but at the time I wasnt that worried about it as long as my car was fixed). Anyway, I paid and picked up my car drove home only to find out that they hadnt fixed anything, and that the vibration was still there. I called and scheduled another appointment for the same problem for a couple days later since I needed my car to get to school finals and work I couldnt just bring it back that day. When I brought it back they looked at it again and told me that the problem was the front left wheel bearing, and that it would cost me almost $300 to repair. They refused to refund me for the prior work even though it was not needed, nor would they give me any type of discount on the work needed to be done. They told me that the bearing was fine less then a week before when I brought the car in for the first time. I looked up the part myself at auto zone and found it for $19.99, so much for that $300 part.
In addition to that I had also gone to Goodyear to have a tire patched (I had ran over a screw) and thought that it may be covered under their warrantee. They said that they were too busy at the time to do it, and that they would do it the next morning and I could pick it up then. The next day I my mother went to pick up my car for me they had replaced the tire (without authorization), and told her that they couldnt patch it due to the fact that the screw was where the side wall met the tread, which was a complete lie. When I took the tire off to put on the donut I saw the screw and it was in the dead middle of the tread. I called to dispute it, but they had conveniently already thrown out the old tire.
Needless to say I will never be having work done there again!
