Tread Quarters
Paid for ilegal work amongst other things

Last Thursday, Feb 2 I was directed to Tread Quarters by my mother who says she always goes there and she has never had a problem. I was taking my car there to have it looked at, to figure out what needed to be done in order to pass inspection. They had offered to look at the car for free. Ok, no problem I appreciate that. And for the record that part was free. They said to pass inspection, I would need an alignment which I knew, a tirerod replaced, and my head lights needed to be secured. For the headlights I thought I needed a whole new assembly, but they said other wise. Also, as informed by a previous mechanic at another shop, my strut mounts are bent. Tread quarters NEVER mentioned that to me. (It's a good thing I was already aware of that problem). With the work needed and inspection it was going to cost $270. I approved it, because I needed it. They called me again to tell me my car was ready. I went and paid for it, and asked if I could leave it there because I was with someone and I had to be somewhere, they said sure no problem. I picked my car up at 10pm, and they had already been closed 2 hours. I was surprised to see my driver side window left completely down. It was never mentioned in the two calls or when I payed for my car. When I left, I couldn't see as far as before with my head lights. Fast forward 3 days, My friend informs me that my head light is out. No wonder I coudln't see well at night. It's possible that tread quarters wasn't the cause, but really, as soon as I got the bulb changed I could see fine. I had my bulb chaged at autozone, and when the guy looked at my headlights, he discovered they were secured with zip ties! Really? Are you serious right now? I paid for that to be done? I mean if you're just going to slap a sticker then do it, and don't do half ass work. I called goodyear today, where a friend of mine works and I informed them of what happened to my car, the manager there told me the zip ties are ilegal. SWEET! Glad I paid for that, not. So I will be taking my car to goodyear this week for them to look over the work that was done, and see what else is wrong. I trust the people at goodyear, and I always try to use the same mechanics. I'm sorry tread quarters, but I will not be returning. I'm wondering if I can get a reimbursement on at least the headlight work.
