Harley Dealers use a computerized performance program that grades mechanics on billable hours, actual hours, actual revenue. This has nothing to do with Harleys flat rate book that harley pays on warranty. I presented a bike for a rear cylinder overhaul. I was quoted 4 hours plus parts and all I got was a new head gasket and some valve seals. NO RINGS NO VALVE JOB NO NOTHING and sent down the road. Burned 2 quarts in 50 miles took it back. The mechanic said Im under constraints and cant always do what I want to do but I should have re ringed it. He re ringed it it burned 1qt in 50 miles.
Route 66 told me well you got a repair and there is nothing we can do for you. It is called a broom job because I was upsetting the computer program bigtime so get rid of him. They have to maximize revenue for billable hours or the non motorcyclist owners go crazy
