I rented a motorycycle from the House of Harley Davidson and the motorcycle broke down on me 2 miles from my house. I then had to wait and 15 hours before anyone returned my phone calls. They then towed the bike back to their location and a week later billed me for the parts and labor for the bike breaking down. They claimed I abused the bike but exactly the opposite happened. I drove the bike in a normal fashion and they decided because the bike broke down in my possession, I would have to pay $1600 for towing, parts, labor and lost revenue. I asked them to investigate the previous rider and the employees that handled the bike and they admitted it was a possibility that the previous rider could have abused the bike and they missed it when it was checked in. They disregarded this possibility though and proceeded to charge my credit card for the $1600. I live on the westcoast and my communications were through phone and email but I believe that they took advantage of my distance and charged me without considering the fact that their negligence caused them to charge the wrong renter.
