Last year we bought a set of Potenza tires (bridgestone) wife got a nail in 1 of them, it was about an inch from the side wall. My wife drove it back to our local Firestone to get it repaired. They told her that because it was within 1.5" of the side wall and it was a low profile tire, that it could not be repaired and a new tire was needed. No problem.
After the repair, my wife goes to pay the bill, and the person at the counter tells her about the "Road Hazzard" warranty and how if that were to happen again, she'd be covered and manages to con her out of 125 dollars. Well, the other day, I notice a nail and it about 1.5" from the side wall in the second set of treads from the inside.
So, my wife goes back to the Firestone store and they look at the tire and proceede to tell her that the tire is not repairable and the roadside does not cover replacement. I read the "contract" and it indeed says it doesnt cover replacement, but the tire WAS repairable. The pretense in which the warranty was sold to my wife, EXACT same situation with the previous tire, made things sound like that if that happened again, it would have been covered.
I feel that was deceptive on the part of Firestone. It seems that this warranty is as good as the circuit city warranties LOL which isnt very good at all, but thats another story in itself
