I purchased a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse from salesman Jack (unable to recall last name). He is no longer employed with Lehman Misubishi. He explained the program as a complete purchase. I stated throghout our meeting that I did not want a lease. I ask for clarification about the Diamonond Advantage Program. No mention of balloon payment, limited miles etc... On January I received calls from Mitsubishi sales manager asking what my plans were for the vehicle. He left several messages.
I contacted Mitsubishi Credit, at that point, that
was when it was revealed that I had to pay a balloon payment of 8,712.63, after my final monthly payment of $369.00 was paid at the end of the term on May 1. The vehicle purchase with interest was; $31,910.95. If I keep the vehicle my total purchase for 2001 eclipse would be;$40,622.00.in addition I was charged $1,058.00 for an extended warranty that I declined during the sale.
Shorty after I received a call from the inspection company contracted by Mitsubishi to inspect the vehicle. I have exceeded over 11K miles. I have notified an attorney. It's the principle of the matter at this point. I intend to contact BBB and the local TV station to target such inappropriate and unethical practices. I will return the vehicle, however Mitsubushi will
not receive additional funds from this consumer.
