Dishonest no truck bad service mistreated and ripped off

I was planning a move from San Jose, CA to Sacramento, CA and on early July. I scheduled a truck from Ryder 2.5 MONTHS in advance using their website 'www.yellowtruck.com'. I got a confirmation email from them and the phone number of the business that would have the truck. They also put a hold on my credit card for the rental amount of $250.

The morning of the move, I called the business to see when the truck would arrive. I was shocked to find out they had NO RECORD of my truck rental at all! They spoke to me like I was some idiot trying to steal a truck from them. I called Ryder customer service and CSR said it was a small mistake and that they could get me a truck in a few hours. 2 hours later, I had to call the CSR who told me no truck was available within 200 miles of me. I demanded a truck from them since I reserved one 2.5 months ago and was sent a confirmation.

They tried to blame the problem on someone not returning the truck I was supposed to get. This is complete B.S. Since the business I called had no record of me or any truck for me. I spoke to 3 or 4 CSRs who offered me $50 for my trouble. I eventually had to rent a truck from the only company that had an available truck (Penske) who charged me $750.

Bottom Line: Their screw-up cost $500 and made my move a nightmare. I have switched to U-Haul ever since and have never had any problems.
