I just read the other reports and the comment from our "friend" Scott "Alfie" Raines.
I want to make sure no one else uses him and just want my money refunded back to me. Of course it would have to be a cashiers check as it was that is what I paid him. I am glad to have found this site.
In June I paid him a 500.00 deposit to move my mobile home from one state to another. He was a week late showing up, giving me the excuse that the weather made him late and that DOT requirements on driving time was making him late. He finally showed up and started taking the house apart (it was a double wide) and told me the other truck was on the north side of town being services. At the end of the day I gave him 1/2 the money (4750) and he was to show up first thing in the morning to move the two parts of the home. At noon when I showed up and he was not there I called him, he informed me he did not have the necessary permits and was waiting for the state to run them down to him.
Later that night when my house was still there I looked for him, to no avail, the next morning I found his hotel and they informed me he left the previous morning. No returned phone calls from him EVER. I just want my money back.
I love His comment on a bad year of course this is bull, he never returned a call to me or an email, he just disappeared.
I have tried several avenues in getting to him to no avail. I contacted the insurance he provided to me and he was uninsured. I was referred to three insurance companies that insured him in a year and none of them still covered him or covered him at the time of my move. I talked with the better business burea and they want to run a report on him in Tennessee, however he works all over the country so that is not going to alert the consumers. I've talked to the police here in my town, but they claimed they do not get involved with a consumer compalaint. I've also talked to DOT and that is also not their field. I was thrilled with this new research and complaint.
Scott if you do read this I do just want my money back. You left me in a terrible spot, I had to find someone else to move my house in a short period of time as my family was already on vacation for this move. You left my house seperated in a mobile home park.
