Firestone
Fraudulent and incompetent workmanship Ripoff

I was advised to have my vehicle serviced by Firestone due to their good reputation and being customer service oriented. Boy was I missinformed. The following took place on Feb. 26, which left me with a very sour note with Firestone.

I had my wife take our mini van for new tires at this location. She was informed that there was a leak at the manifold intake and a leak in the radiator due to rust. I knew about a small leak at the manifold, so after pondering for awhile. I approved for all the repairs to be performed and since the vehicle is there, added a tune up for a total price of $2,500

My wife picked up the vehicle on April 27 and drove it home. The next day as she was driving it to her work. She had called me from her cellphone informing that the van was loosing pickup. I told her to take the car back to Firestone to have it checked... Here is my nightmare with Firestone.

I was informed that there was an internal leak created by a "rust fissure" in the engine and the cost to fix will be $2,500. (this is on top of the 2,500 that I had already invested days earlier).
I was not pleased with their answer and informed that I will think it over on my options. (might need to buy a new van with all of this money invested on this '98 Astro Van, with 92,000 miles)

I contacted Firestone consumer affairs and spoke with Joy. Joy wanted to see if the issue could be solved at the store level, so she conferenced me with Todd/Mgr for the Cartersville Firestone Shop that my van was still sitting. During our conference call Todd again informs that he issue was a "fissure" in the engine and informed me that he will speak with his DM to see if there is something they can do. Todd called back around 1430 informing if we can follow up with this issue on 2-28, because he had a personal emergency.

After a long, extended battle with the Firestone Shop in Cartersville and their Firestone Corporate Insurance/Claims Dept. They finally settled with writting out a check for the cost of fixing the van at Days Chevrolet. And get my van back around March 16
I will never have or should I ever recommend a vehicle to be serviced at any Firestone.
