On 2/28/02 we took our car into Pepboys for an oil change, filter and lube. At 11:38 A.M. We paid the bill of $18.99 and left the store. About 10 blocks away the oil light came on and the motor quit. I opened the hood and looked and the oil filter had fallen off and all the oil was gone all over the outside the motor.
We called for a ride and went back to the store, and they had the car towed in to see what had happened to it, and said the motor had seized up. The service manager was real nice at the time and has always been good to us. No complaints on him till recently.
They rented us a car and put a different motor in our car and called about 15 days later to come and get it. Since that time we have moved to another city about 65 miles awya but every tuesday since the motor exchange we have been taking the car back to get the oil leaks fixed. At one time they put some dye in our oil so they could find the leaks and said we had 7 leaks in the motor.
He would check it on tuesday and tell us to bring it back the next tuesday then never do anything to it. Last tuesday he looked at it again and told us it still had the 7 leaks in it so we were to go home and and wait for his call the next day. They said the motor had to come out and all new seals put in it.
They also said it would take the better part of a week so they would get us a car rental. We waited 4 days and called them backand they told us everything was set and he would call us in 1/2 hour to bring the car in. We called back 5 hours later and they told us that the corporate office wouldn't let them do anything.
So here we set with an oil leaker we can't drive without a large investment in some oil co. Another thing is the a.C., alarm system were working good before they worked on it, we have nothing now and it idles real rough and heats up bad.
I could go on and on about this but the longer I type the madder I get so i will drop it there while still in good mood.
